      Hi Patty, great question. Every person is different depending on their current range of motion, injuries present, and overall goals. In general, the benefits are cumulative with regular practice and the Somatic Movement Flows can be practiced safely on a daily basis. That being said, if there are any personal needs you might have or specific goals that might need to be factored into your experience, booking a one-on-one virtual session with James can give you all the answers you seek for your body uniquely.     Hi all- new to this (somatic yoga). In constant Fight or Flight mode (anxiety is through the roof). When would be the best time to do this/these exercises, please? Not sure if Somatic Yoga is best before bed? Any tips/help would be greatly appreciated ❤

    I’m currently in your GSY level 1 training and I love it! I’m also a massage therapist and Shamanic Reiki teacher. I’ve gotten different somatic certifications including somatic yoga but I love the Hannah based movements you offer because I can easily apply that to the massage table too.

It is based from an experience I had with what some people might call angels... or highly evolved resonant beings with profound love and intellgence.     You seem like a wonderful Soul James, I have had low back pain and sciatica for the first time in my life (I’m over 70) and have been a yogi since my 20s. But nothing was helping so a dear friend Anne Campbell suggested your videos to me, she has trained with you, I’ve been watching the videos and doing them daily for last 5 days and have found tremendous relief and have more hope that I am healing.     After practicing yoga for decades (prior to 2020) I have spent the last 3-4 years in survival mode and, sadly, fell out of practice (and also put on quite a few pounds... ) I have only recently learned abt Somatic movements and came across your video this morning. What a difference these seemingly small movements made in only 20 minutes time… I feel incredible! Will def be using these movements daily to help get back in touch with my inner self. Namaste.

      @@cinmac3 I'm sorry to hear you injured yourself and experiencing discomfort. Since I do not know of your condition, it is difficult for me to reccommend anything. As well, you'd need your doctor's permission. Once you are able to move safely, it might be possible to explore small and slow movements while in bed. And, also, it could helpful to explore just visualizing the movements without pysically doing them. It is important to not do movements that cause you pain or strain. I hope you feel better and get well soon.

I've been intending to become a somatics practitioner for years and I feel like the PV area is so ready for it (I lived in Sayulita for 2 years and have a lot of connections there) I'm open to all possibilities! I first learned Hanna Somatics in a yoga class at city college of San Francisco. It was a little book with pictures of wooden dolls. Recently I had a profound healing experience when I decided to try it again 'cos I'm a little older now and had some joint pain. A two hour practice healed it! Since then I've been researching many options and yours called to me. I'm so excited to take this step and learn from you and share it with my community 🙂💕

    I’m so excited about this! Thank you. I’m wondering: Would you say this would be better to do first thing in the morning? Or before bed at night. Those are the only two times of day I’m able to fit something like this in, and I’m wondering if it would keep me awake at night

      Hi. First, I'm so happy to hear you found such great results. You ask a good question... You might explore trying this day and/or night. The benefit in the morning is that the Somatic Movement Flows can help prepare your muscles to move for the day... to give you more ease with movement. At night, this Gentle Somatic Yoga practice can help you release any tension you stored in your tissues during the day, and thus help you get a better night's sleep. :) Let me know how it goes. The benefits are cummulative and only practicing a few times a week is fine. 💚 James
